Mauve Dragonfly Brooch

A striking Mauve Dragonfly Brooch hand crafted in colourful polymer clay by Canadian artist Wanda Shum.

Because every dragonfly is individually crafted by hand, every one will look a little different.

Polymer clay is a type of modeling clay similar to PVC which can be hardened in an oven. This allows the artist to form it into a myriad of wonderful shapes and patterns, with bright colours.

Wanda Shum is an artist from British Columbia, Canada. She works in polymer clays using a technique called Millefiori where strips if different shapes and colours of polymer clay are shaped into canes. When the cane is cut it reveals the beautiful colours and patterns. These are then carefully applied and sculpted into earrings, pens, chopsticks and many other items to form one of a kind works of art.
