Inukshuk Silk Tie with design and artwork by Chippewyan Native Artist Dawn Oman. She uses bright bold swirling colour combinations to represent the northern lights.
In Inuit tradition the Inukshuk was built to serve as landmark and guide. They also reminded passersby that they were not alone on the barren, frozen landscape of the North.
‘My work reflects my fascination with colour and the power of a joyful image to bring light to the soul at any time the spirit is in need of a reminder, that in beauty, there is peace.’ Dawn Oman
