Green Feather Earrings

These Green Feather Earrings are hand-shaped to resemble delicate bird feathers, made from polymer clay by Canadian artist Wanda Shum. Because each pair is individually crafted, small variations in colour and pattern make every pair one of a kind.

Wanda uses a technique called Millefiori, where thin strips of coloured polymer clay are layered and shaped into canes. When sliced, each cane reveals intricate colour patterns, which Wanda then sculpts by hand into finished pieces like these earrings.

Polymer clay is a versatile modeling material that hardens when baked, allowing for detailed shapes and vivid colour work that would be difficult to achieve with other materials.
